Following a service at All Saints Church led by Rev. Chris Maclean, Lydd Town Council Mayor Making and Annual Statutory Meeting took place on Monday 21st May 2018 at the Guild Hall Lydd when Members of Lydd Town Council elected the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the forthcoming Mayoral Year. Cllr Bob Jones was re-elected as Mayor for the third year running and Cllr Mrs Carole Waters was elected as Deputy Mayor. The Mayoress is Cllr Mrs Jean Jones.
At the meeting Cadet Chantelle Hughes was re- appointed as the Town Mayor’s Cadet and was presented with a badge of office by the Mayor and Rev. Chris Maclean was re-appointed as the Mayor’s Chaplain for the forthcoming Mayoral year.
Councillors were appointed to Council Committees and Working Groups and also to represent the Council on meetings of outside bodies and organisations.
The Mayor presented gifts to the members of the Guild Hall staff and thanked them for their hard work during his time as Mayor and would like to express his gratitude to the Councillors who supported him in his re-election and looks forward to leading the Council for another year.
